About The Position
This Inside Sales Rep (ISR) opportunity is for individuals with a positive attitude and who enjoy sales and interacting with people. The role involves becoming the face of the store and a reliable point of contact for customers, emphasizing friendly customer service as a key differentiator. Carter Lumber, founded in 1932, is a family-owned company with over 90 years of history, operating more than 160 locations across thirteen states. The company values honesty, hard work, and putting people first. The ISR will assist customers in-store, provide product information, offer project advice, generate estimates, and process transactions. The role also includes following up on online quotes, cold calling for new leads, supporting Outside Sales Reps, and assisting with inventory control through cycle counts and resolving discrepancies. Comprehensive training on products, POS systems, and paperwork is provided. Compensation includes a salary plus an uncapped commission structure.
Requirements

Responsibilities
- Assist customers who walk in the store
- Share product information
- Give advice on project needs
- Produce estimates for packages/projects
- Process transactions
- Follow up on online customer quotes
- Cold call to qualify new leads
- Support the Outside Sales Reps as needed
- Assist in inventory control by conducting cycle counts and resolving overages/shortages
