Full Time - Sales Associate - Inside Lawn & Garden - Day
About The Position
The Sales Associate is a customer-facing role in Lowe’s Inside Lawn & Garden department. The associate welcomes customers, helps them locate and select products and services for home improvement needs, answers questions, and ensures their needs are met. The work includes organizing and replenishing merchandise, processing orders and deliveries, and occasionally handling or loading merchandise. Associates may be cross-trained in other store areas and may prepare merchandise based on customer needs. The role does not require regular travel, though occasional travel to meetings, training, or neighboring stores may be needed. Working conditions can include both indoor and outdoor environments, exposure to varying climates and noise, and contact with moving or shaking objects and equipment.
Requirements
- At least 6 months of experience using a computer, including inputting, accessing, modifying, or outputting information.
- At least 6 months of experience using common retail technology, such as smartphones and tablets.
- Ability to read, write, and perform basic arithmetic, including addition and subtraction.
- Ability to perform duties that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds unassisted, or more than 25 pounds with or without an accommodation.
Nice To Haves
- At least 6 months of retail and/or customer service experience.
- Bilingual skills.
- Certification in a trade related to the department, such as hardware, kitchen, plumbing, electrical, lawn and garden, or lumber/building materials.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers, answer questions, and provide friendly, professional customer service.
- Help customers locate and handle merchandise.
- Down stock merchandise by identifying empty shelf areas and replenishing supplies.
- Process orders and deliveries accurately and on time.
- Cross-functionally train in other store areas to support customer service.
- Prepare merchandise based on customer needs, such as tinting and mixing paint, cutting and threading pipe, cutting and bundling wood, cutting drywall, or cutting blinds.
- Guide customers through shopping or checkout.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
