About The Position

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience and success in the electric construction industry.
• Extensive hands-on experience with commercial and industrial electric construction practices.
• Expertise in electrical codes, safety practices, and regulatory compliance.
• Clear and effective communication, organization, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
• Ability to adapt teaching methods to different skill levels and learning styles.
• Proficiency in using training aids, tools, and technology to enhance learning.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexible schedule to accommodate training needs.
• Willingness to travel to job sites as required.
• Ability to lift and carry training equipment and materials.
• Commitment to promoting safety, diversity, and professionalism within the company.

• Prior teaching, training, or mentorship experience is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, design, and implement training curricula for commercial and industrial electrical construction practices.
• Train employees and apprentices in electrical system installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting; construction methods; cable pulling; rigging; power distribution; switchgear; electrical safety; and applicable codes and standards.
• Provide ongoing mentorship to union craft labor employees to improve technical skills.
• Conduct classroom-based and hands-on training at company facilities or job sites.
• Maintain accurate employee training records, certifications, and documentation.
• Manage training information, resources, and schedules.
• Evaluate training outcomes through assessments, exams, and feedback, and refine programs as needed.
• Coordinate with third-party training vendors, NECA, IBEW, and other industry partners to evaluate and schedule training and arrange compensation as appropriate.
• Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps and develop targeted training solutions.
• Partner with the Safety Team to develop and reinforce a strong safety culture and support training.
• Promote tools, technology, and methods that enhance productivity, safety, and quality.
• Conduct regular field visits, build relationships with crews, and identify training and development needs.
• Participate in safety meetings, inspections, and audits as a subject-matter expert.
• Provide employees with mentoring and guidance.
• Partner with Human Resources on strategies to attract, retain, and upskill the workforce.
• Keep training materials current with developments in electrical technology, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
