About The Position
The Principal Physician & Society Liaison serves as a key connection between Medtronic Endoscopy, influential physicians, and leading gastroenterology professional societies. The role manages strategic relationships and programs involving society partnerships, physician engagement, fellows education, symposia, advisory boards, sponsorships, educational grants, and conferences. It combines hands-on program execution with strategic development, using insights from physicians and societies to inform evidence generation, product strategy, engagement planning, and business decisions. The role also helps evolve partnerships toward more strategic, outcome-focused relationships. The Endoscopy Operating Unit advances gastrointestinal care through medical technology, clinical evidence, education, and collaboration with the gastroenterology community. This position is onsite in Lafayette, Colorado. Travel is based on physician engagements, educational programs, and conference schedules, with travel expected to be up to approximately 30%. The role requires a bachelor's degree plus seven years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree plus five years of relevant experience. An advanced degree, professional medical society engagement, gastroenterology or endoscopy experience, and experience in physician-facing healthcare work are preferred.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree plus 7 years of relevant experience, or an advanced degree plus 5 years of relevant experience.
- For baccalaureate degrees earned outside the United States, a degree satisfying the requirements of 8 C.F.R. § 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Medical Affairs, medical technology, pharmaceuticals, healthcare, or a comparable physician-facing environment.
- Experience managing relationships with physicians, healthcare professionals, professional societies, thought leaders, or other senior external healthcare stakeholders.
- Experience managing cross-functional programs, projects, or educational initiatives involving multiple internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience capturing external stakeholder insights and translating them into business, medical, product, evidence, or program recommendations.
- Professional medical society engagement experience.
- Gastroenterology or endoscopy experience.
- Experience with key opinion leader engagement, educational grants, sponsorships, advisory boards, symposia, conferences, or physician education programs.
- Advanced degree.
Responsibilities
- Manage strategic relationships, partnerships, and sponsorships with key gastroenterology professional societies, including supporting partnership and sponsorship negotiations.
- Develop and maintain relationships with priority physicians, thought leaders, researchers, educators, influencers, and key customers, coordinating engagement across business leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Translate insights from physician and society engagements into recommendations that inform evidence generation, product strategy, engagement priorities, evidence dissemination, and business decisions.
- Plan and coordinate company-sponsored symposia, advisory boards, fellows programs, and other physician education and engagement programs with Medical Affairs, medical education, marketing, field, and leadership teams.
- Maintain and use key opinion leader and physician information to support stakeholder mapping, engagement strategy, relationship management, and evidence dissemination planning.
- Manage educational grants, sponsorships, conferences, and associated budgets, including reviewing and approving educational grants and coordinating Medtronic participation and support.
- Align physician and society programs with medical, market, product, and business strategies, identifying opportunities to develop more strategic relationships and outcomes.
- Support special projects and external information requests related to physician, professional society, educational, and Medical Affairs activities.
