Physician - Psychiatry - Consult Liaison (Weekends Only)
About The Position
Corewell Health’s Department of Behavioral Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible adult Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist for weekend coverage. The psychiatrist collaborates with a multidisciplinary care team to provide psychiatric consultations to medical and surgical units and emergency departments for patients with primary psychiatric conditions or psychiatric comorbidities. The role includes evaluating and diagnosing patients, making treatment recommendations, and facilitating referrals for long-term treatment when needed. It also includes educating residents and medical students. The position is on site at one Corewell Health hospital and provides telehealth consultations to multiple Corewell Health hospital locations and emergency departments. Coverage is required for at least one weekend per month. The listed primary location is Farmington Hills Hospital.
Requirements
- Board-certified or board-eligible in adult psychiatry.
- Provide coverage for at least one weekend per month.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team to provide psychiatric consultations to medical and surgical units and emergency departments.
- Evaluate and diagnose patients with primary psychiatric conditions or psychiatric comorbidities.
- Provide psychiatric recommendations to patients’ care teams.
- Facilitate referrals for long-term treatment when needed.
- Educate residents and medical students.
- Provide on-site coverage at one Corewell Health hospital and telehealth consultations at multiple hospital locations and emergency departments.
