About The Position

Join the Leadership Team at Boot Factory Outlet! This Ops. Manager works closely with the General Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of the store, develop employees, maintain operational standards, and deliver an exceptional experience for every guest. This is a full-time retail management position requiring 45 or more hours per week based on the needs of the business. Management schedules will vary based on staffing levels, store operations, and business demands. This is a hands-on, working manager position. The Store Operations Manager is expected to be actively involved in daily store operations, including working the sales floor, supervising employees, hiring and training team members, resolving employee and customer concerns, and ensuring operational expectations are consistently met.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three years of retail management experience, preferably in a supervisory or assistant management role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading, coaching, training, and developing employees.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining positive working relationships.
  • Ability to effectively delegate responsibilities and follow up on assigned tasks.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize competing responsibilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities.
  • Sound judgment and the ability to make appropriate, timely decisions in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Strong business acumen with an understanding of sales, productivity, profitability, staffing, and operational performance.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also functioning effectively as part of the management team.
  • Proven ability to build positive relationships with customers, employees, management, and company leadership.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Stand and walk for the majority of the workday.
  • Frequently bend, reach, climb, and move throughout the store.
  • Access all areas of the store, including the sales floor, stockroom, and cash wrap.
  • Safely lift, move, and handle merchandise weighing up to approximately 50–60 pounds.
  • Operate equipment necessary for daily store operations.
  • Read, count, write, and accurately complete required documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the General Manager to oversee the daily operations and overall performance of the store.
  • Lead by example on the sales floor while creating a welcoming, service-focused environment for every guest.
  • Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, develop, and supervise store employees.
  • Ensure new employees receive effective training and understand company policies, procedures, customer service standards, and job expectations.
  • Strategically schedule and position employees to maximize productivity, customer service, and sales performance.
  • Establish performance expectations, delegate responsibilities, and follow up to ensure assignments and goals are completed.
  • Coach and develop employees to strengthen customer service, selling skills, product knowledge, productivity, and overall job performance.
  • Address employee performance concerns through coaching, counseling, documentation, and disciplinary action in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Resolve employee conflicts professionally, fairly, and efficiently.
  • Ensure company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and operational standards are consistently followed.
  • Assist with opening, closing, cash-handling, merchandising, inventory, stockroom, and other operational responsibilities as needed.
  • Maintain a visible leadership presence throughout the store and provide employees with direction and support throughout each shift.
