About The Position

Oversees direct-run food sales service operations for an assigned Region or district(s). The incumbent of this position must file a Financial Disclosure Report (OGE) Form 450, as required.

Requirements

  • Requires a total of 7 years of experience in any combination noted below.
  • GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Three years of experience performed in administrative, merchandising, technical, or other responsible work which enabled the applicant to gain a knowledge of merchandising and procurement practices; skill in dealing with others in person-to-person work relationships and the ability to exercise mature judgment.

  • SUBSTITUTION OF EDUCATION FOR EXPERIENCE: 1 year of directly related academic study above the high school level may be substituted for 9 months of experience, up to a maximum of a 4 year bachelor's degree for 3 years of general experience.
  • AND SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Four years of progressively responsible experience which provided background in services, merchandising and operational management; maintenance of inventory levels, stock controls; analyzing operational data; customer relations, exempt or non-exempt supervisory experience of human resources; and maintaining effective sanitation, security and safety measures; or similar work which demonstrated the knowledge and abilities required to manage the operational area.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, analyzes and monitors the NES food service contract and direct run performance in collaboration with the GMs and the Food Service Branch Manager.
  • Makes periodic and frequent inspections of all food services locations within the specified Region. Partners with the GMs (and CORs) to identify and execute action to correct deficiencies and maximize operational performance in accordance with industry and brand standards. Follows up to ensure that prompt and proper corrective action has been taken.
  • Coaches and trains GMs and CORs on basic food service oversight standards and contract management. Supports the CORs on contracting issues and problem resolution with their Region.
  • Works with the GMs to appropriately analyze and develop new business opportunities on a given Installation.
  • Provides guidance and assistance to the NEXCOM Branch Manager, Food Service program on operational and development matters. Recommends and implements approved NEXCOM changes in policies and procedures to improve operations.
  • Responsible for supporting customer service programs, operational reporting and inventory control in the specified Region.
  • Analyzes financial statements and other pertinent data to evaluate operational efficiency. Develops and controls an operating budget to include sales, profits, direct and indirect costs.
  • Establishes and promotes contractor operational plans.
  • Responsible for the preparation and submission of reports and the maintenance of operating records/files.
  • Works under the general direction of the NEXCOM Branch Manager Food Service Program and interfaces with District Vice Presidents.
  • Prepares and delivers substantive briefings to senior government officials, and contractors on current o proposed operations.
  • Attends seminars and commercial shows. Establishes and maintains constructive relationships with key government, military, civilian personnel, vendors, and corporate franchise representatives doing business with NEXCOM.
  • Carries out EEO policies and communicates support to subordinates.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
