About The Position
Action Target is seeking a full-time traveling Field Service Technician to perform repairs and maintenance on their equipment and at customer facilities. This role involves significant travel, working with unique customers in the firearms training industry. The company emphasizes innovation, experience, and excellent service and support.
Requirements
- Ability to leave Monday and not return home until Friday (and sometimes Saturday) working at multiple facilities during the week.
- Experience with electric motors, circuit boards, electronic components, pneumatic valves, and control systems.
- Experience with large steel bullet traps and handling lead components.
- Ability to pass background clearance checks for access to secure federal and military installations.
- Ability to secure a passport.
- Must live within 1 hour of a major airport.
- Basic understanding of networking principles and hardware.
- Experience with electricity including high voltage and 3-phase.
- Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- Experience with electronics concepts and components.
- Very strong skills in customer service, relationship building, and interpersonal communication.
- Computer skills including word processing, basic networking, and communication port configuration.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy loads up to 100 pounds.
- Ability to work in narrow spaces and on ladders.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively with little supervision.
- Valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
- Perform repairs and maintenance functions on Action Target equipment and at customer facilities.
- Travel extensively, leaving Monday and returning Friday or Saturday, working at multiple facilities during the week.
- Troubleshoot and repair a variety of equipment including electric motors, circuit boards, electronic components, pneumatic valves, control systems, large steel bullet traps, and lead components.
- Provide excellent customer service and build relationships with clients.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal teams.
- Work efficiently and effectively with little supervision.
