About The Position

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
• Insurance disaster restoration experience is required.
• Xactimate estimating experience is required.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and materials.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints or schematics.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to follow company protocols.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders at all levels.

Nice To Haves

• Three to five years of insurance disaster restoration experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Drive to worksites and travel for business purposes.
• Conduct site inspections, communicate with customers, and gather information to prepare accurate scopes of work.
• Research the cost of materials, transportation, labor, and vendors to support approval of project scope and price by insurers or property owners.
• Follow up with insurance agents regarding approvals.
• Assess the risk levels associated with each project.
• Confer with supervisors, owners, contractors, and other personnel to discuss and resolve work procedures, complaints, and construction problems.
• Understand project requirements and navigate project-generating programs such as Contractor Connections, following their guidelines and deadlines.
• Communicate respectfully and clearly with all parties involved in projects.
• Review Xactimate-generated estimates for completeness and technical accuracy.
• Organize and upload documentation, including photographs of project progress.
• Determine key variables affecting project costs.
• Create and submit estimate reports or bids through appropriate systems.
• Use salesmanship to try to sell the job.
• Respond to customer questions and concerns and document scope changes.
• Follow up on communications, including phone calls, meetings, and emails.
• Keep customers informed about the estimating process through fast responses and frequent communication.
• Prepare contracts or negotiate revisions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, or contractors.
• Develop or implement quality-control programs.
• Implement new or modified plans in response to delays, bad weather, or construction-site emergencies.
• Inform supervisors immediately about customer dissatisfaction.
• Analyze data to determine project feasibility.
• Coordinate with Project Managers regarding needed supplements and with Mitigation Project Managers to support project handoffs.
