About The Position

The Senior Physician Recruiter is responsible for full-cycle recruitment of physicians, advanced practice providers, and other critical or difficult-to-fill clinical positions across Consensus Health throughout the state of New Jersey. This is a high-impact recruiting role responsible for developing strong provider pipelines, proactively sourcing and engaging talent, partnering with clinical and operational leaders, and successfully moving candidates from initial contact through offer acceptance and onboarding. The successful candidate will bring strong physician recruiting expertise, a sense of urgency, and a demonstrated ability to attract and close high-quality provider talent.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive recruiting experience with demonstrated physician and/or advanced practice provider recruitment experience.
  • Proven success sourcing passive candidates and filling difficult-to-recruit provider positions.
  • Strong relationship-building, influencing, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple searches and competing priorities in a high-volume environment.
  • Strong understanding of physician and APP recruiting markets and sourcing strategies.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and candidate management skills.
  • Experience with applicant tracking systems and sourcing platforms; Workday experience preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree preferred; equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
  • Healthcare, medical group, health system, or physician recruiting agency experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead full-cycle recruitment for physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other critical clinical positions.
  • Manage multiple provider searches across specialties, practices, and locations.
  • Proactively source active and passive candidates through direct outreach, professional networks, databases, residency and fellowship programs, referrals, associations, and recruiting platforms.
  • Screen and assess candidates for clinical, professional, organizational, and cultural fit.
  • Build and maintain pipelines for current and anticipated provider needs.
  • Develop creative sourcing strategies for difficult-to-fill specialties and markets.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leaders to understand provider needs, establish recruiting priorities, and develop search strategies.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the recruitment process and ensure a responsive, high-quality candidate experience.
  • Coordinate interviews, practice visits, leadership meetings, and candidate follow-up.
  • Advise hiring leaders on candidate availability, market conditions, compensation expectations, and recruiting challenges.
  • Partner with HR and leadership on offer development, negotiation, and successful candidate closure.
  • Maintain candidate engagement from offer acceptance through onboarding and start date.
  • Develop proactive talent pipelines for anticipated growth, vacancies, and critical specialties.
  • Build relationships with medical schools, residency and fellowship programs, professional associations, and other provider talent sources.
  • Monitor physician and APP recruiting trends, competitive activity, and market conditions.
  • Partner with Marketing on provider recruitment branding, campaigns, and outreach.
  • Represent Consensus Health at appropriate recruiting and professional events.
  • Evaluate sourcing tools, external recruiters, and recruiting resources based on effectiveness and organizational need.
  • Maintain accurate candidate, requisition, and pipeline information within Workday and other recruiting systems.
  • Track and report key recruiting metrics including open positions, pipeline activity, time-to-fill, offer acceptance, provider starts, and sourcing effectiveness.
  • Provide regular recruitment updates to HR, clinical, and operational leadership.
  • Identify recruiting bottlenecks and implement strategies to improve speed, candidate conversion, and hiring outcomes.
  • Ensure recruitment practices are consistent with organizational policies and applicable employment requirements.
