About The Position

The Planning Execution Specialist gives Product Operations clear visibility into material status, identifies supply risks and constraints, and drives actions to improve part readiness for engine-level execution. Working at the intersection of materials, product operations, and execution, this role tracks where parts are in the supply chain, flags issues that could disrupt demand fulfillment, and drives actions to protect business commitments. The role applies FLIGHT DECK, GE Aerospace’s lean operating model, through Standard Work, Daily & Visual Management, Operating Cadences, and structured Problem Solving. By surfacing material issues early and managing them to closure, the Planning Execution Specialist supports Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost performance. This SkillBridge opportunity is for active-duty Service members in their last 180 days of service. Participants train full-time with an approved industry partner while continuing to receive military compensation and benefits; they are not eligible for compensation from GE Aerospace. The role is based in Evendale, Ohio, with in-office presence and hybrid options, and requires 10% travel. Access to U.S. export-controlled information requires the ability to establish U.S. Person status.

  • Knowledge of material flow from supplier through receipt, storage, and production use.
  • Familiarity with inventory control, shortage management, or production support.
  • Experience with executive reporting, action tracking, and operating cadences.
  • Familiarity with lean principles, visual management, standard work, and structured problem solving.
  • Experience in delivery-critical environments where supply constraints directly affect execution.

Responsibilities

  • Provide timely material availability status for assigned engines, modules, product lines, or part families.
  • Track critical parts across the supply chain, including order status, expected receipts, inventory position, quality holds, and point-of-use readiness.
  • Translate part-level supply conditions into engine-level execution risk to support prioritization and decision-making.
  • Maintain repeatable readiness tracking methods aligned with Standard Work.
  • Identify material constraints affecting engine demand, build and test schedules, or delivery commitments.
  • Communicate risks from shortages, late orders, supplier delays, quality holds, transaction errors, or process gaps.
  • Drive recovery plans and keep issues visible through closure, with owners, due dates, expected impact, and status.
  • Apply structured problem solving to recurring material issues and sustain countermeasures.
  • Analyze inventory positions for critical parts, assemblies, and constrained materials, and determine whether available and inbound supply can support near-term engine demand priorities.
  • Monitor allocation issues, excess and shortage conditions, material aging, and availability trends.
  • Improve visibility into material flow from supplier through receipt, storage, and engine execution.
  • Maintain a proactive view of supply risk, escalate emerging issues with business impact, timing, severity, and recommended mitigation, and develop recovery plans for high-priority shortages.
  • Serve as liaison between Product Operations and supply planning, sourcing, procurement, warehouse, manufacturing, quality, logistics, and program teams.
  • Align stakeholders on part status, execution risks, open actions, and escalation paths, and drive action completion through operating reviews.
  • Demonstrate FLIGHT DECK behaviors of Respect for People, Continuous Improvement, and Customer-Driven execution.
  • Build and maintain part status trackers, shortage reports, readiness summaries, and action logs.
  • Analyze ERP/MRP data to identify gaps, trends, shortage patterns, and execution risks.
  • Prepare executive-ready summaries of key constraints, aging shortages, and recovery actions.
  • Create visual management tools and standard data review routines to help teams recognize and respond to abnormalities.
