About The Position

The BAS Technical Program Manager supports DLB’s mission critical projects, with a primary focus on building automation systems (BAS), PMS (Power Management System), controls integration, and smart building solutions. This role provides technical and project leadership for the planning, and design of BAS/PMS and integrated control systems and develops and maintains DLB controls standards. The BAS Technical Program Manager collaborates closely with out-source partners, MEP design engineers, construction contractors, equipment vendors, software engineers, project managers, and client representatives to ensure systems are designed, integrated, and delivered in alignment with project requirements and client expectations. This position operates with a high degree of independence, receiving general directions on routine work and detailed guidance on new or complex assignments. The manager may serve as a technical lead / Point of Contact on projects of moderate to complex scope and coordinate the work of other engineering and production staff. The role communicates and operates in line with organizational goals, values, and departmental objectives.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of open-source protocols (BACnet, Modbus and SNMP)
  • Knowledge of IoT and smart building solutions
  • Knowledge of typical data center control redundancy strategies
  • Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved in the construction mission critical, commercial buildings, or other structures
  • Skilled at using Revit and AutoCAD
  • Skilled at using MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), along with exceptional organizational skills for file management
  • Skilled in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail
  • Ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to company-wide innovation
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote environment thru effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivation, proactiveness and resourcefulness in a distraction free workspace

Responsibilities

  • Oversee subconsultant scopes of work, including the development, review, and coordination of Statements of Objectives (SOO), construction drawings, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure subconsultant deliverables are complete, accurate, and aligned with project requirements, organizational standards, and applicable codes and regulations using the DLB QAQC process.
  • Coordinate with project teams and external partners to monitor scope compliance, maintain quality expectations, and support timely delivery of design and documentation packages.
  • Create and manage project deliverables including design drawings, sequences of operations and specifications.
  • Assist in development of various engineering drawings in AutoCAD and Revit format including floor plan drawings, system architecture diagrams, point-to-point wiring diagrams and control panel diagrams.
  • Coordinate items with MEP trades that also affect BAS.
  • Identify potential project scope changes and aid in development of strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
  • Management of project deliverables when they are not the lead design engineer.
  • Develop, document, and maintain BAS and EPMS production standards in conjunction with the BIM team.
  • Develop, document, and maintain BAS and EPMS specification sections.
  • Review existing standards regularly to ensure they align with customer needs, DLB graphics standards, and ongoing innovations in the industry.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to staff regarding standards implementation and compliance.
  • Work closely with outsource partners standards and training staff to ensure compliance on all projects.
  • Work as part of the engineering team and interact closely with the project management team.
  • Manage and review shop drawings and submittals.
  • Manage and review and respond to RFIs.
  • Manage and review punch lists and project close out documents.
  • Assist and manage onsite BAS engineering audits and feasibility studies.
  • Assist and manage BAS engineering surveys for retrofit projects.
  • Prepare and oversee development of project progress reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Create / complete departmental reports.
  • Accountable for project contract administration.
  • Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, seeking out new technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance.
  • Adapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows, actively supporting the integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.
  • Performs Other Related Duties as Assigned
