About The Position

Inova Cancer Research Program is seeking a Research Manager for its Phase 1 Program. This full-time, day-shift position is based in Fairfax, Virginia, and works Monday through Friday. The Research Manager supervises staff conducting complex research activities and producing research deliverables, ensures compliance with applicable regulations, and manages the program’s financial and academic portfolio.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Three years of research experience.

Nice To Haves

• At least five years of clinical trial experience.
• Experience conducting clinical trials in a hospital or academic medical center setting.
• Experience with oncology clinical trials.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the assigned department or functional area to ensure effective performance, including hiring and training team members, developing and implementing business strategies, managing team performance, and delegating tasks.
• Ensure all program research studies are compliant and functioning appropriately.
• Ensure appropriate educational information is available on Inova’s public website for research purposes.
• Initiate corrective action plans as required to maintain compliance with Inova policies.
• Develop and oversee research study budgets, negotiation, and implementation to ensure selected studies have an adequate subject population and are financially and academically productive.
• Provide reporting on financial and academic productivity and compliance updates for the research program.
• Supervise research program staff conducting complex research activities and producing research deliverables.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
