About The Position
Lakeview Hospital is seeking a Patient Access Representative to provide a warm welcome to patients and family members in a fast-paced environment. This customer-service-focused position is responsible for accurate patient registration, including conducting patient identification interviews, verifying demographic and insurance information, checking insurance eligibility in real time, and entering information precisely into the system. The role emphasizes strong patient relations, confidentiality, and a positive patient and family experience.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior equivalent work experience may be considered instead of a diploma.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills, including human relations sensitivity, listening, and telephone etiquette.
- Ability to promote and maintain good patient relations and patient confidentiality.
- Computer and accurate keyboarding skills.
Nice To Haves
- Epic experience.
- Knowledge of ADT and Prelude.
- One year of healthcare experience.
- One year of work experience in patient registration.
- General knowledge of third-party payors, hospital policies, and business office procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Typing speed of at least 50 WPM.
Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and family members presenting for service.
- Conduct patient identification interviews.

- Perform real-time insurance eligibility checks.
- Accurately enter patient information into the system.
