About The Position

The IVF Nurse Coordinator (RN) provides individualized nursing care and comprehensive coordination for fertility patients throughout the IVF journey. The role includes treatment coordination, medication management, patient advocacy, education, counseling, and outcome monitoring. The coordinator works closely with physicians to plan and coordinate care, consults with patients about treatment protocols, medications, and testing, and functions independently as well as collaboratively within a team. The position reports to the IVF Nurse Supervisor. The role is per diem, with a minimum of four shifts per month. The schedule is Monday through Friday with rotated weekends and holidays. Hybrid work may be available based on performance after the probationary/orientation period. Remote work may be considered for candidates outside California who have more than five years of direct fertility-field experience. The work takes place in a professional office and clinical setting. The position uses standard office equipment and requires regular communication, frequent sitting, occasional standing and walking, and use of hands and arms for tasks such as typing and reaching. Employees need visual acuity for reviewing data, using computer terminals, reading, and operating office equipment. Compensation varies by location, experience, skills, and knowledge. The posting notes potential overtime pay at time and a half, holiday differential pay at time and a half, weekend shift differential pay of $4.00 per hour, and rewards that may include an annual bonus, flexible work arrangements, and region-specific benefits. Employment offers are conditional on successfully completing onboarding, including verification of eligibility and authorization to work in the United States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current, unrestricted State Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Active BCLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • Two or more years of RN experience.
  • Two or more years of experience in women's health, fertility, or OB/GYN.
  • For remote work consideration outside California, more than five years of direct experience in the fertility field.

Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' medical histories, reproductive health, and underlying conditions that may affect fertility, and ensure appropriate information is entered in the EMR.
  • Collaborate with physicians to determine suitable treatment plans for individual patients.
  • Educate patients about IVF procedures, infertility testing, insemination, IVF, FET, egg vitrification, medications, potential side effects, and lifestyle factors that may affect treatment success.
  • Provide emotional support and counseling to patients throughout their CCRM journey.
  • Guide patients in self-administering medications, monitor progress, adjust medication dosages based on patient responses, and communicate concerns to the medical team.
  • Coordinate and schedule surgery and ART appointments, diagnostic tests, and procedures; ensure consents are signed and patients follow treatment timelines.
  • Monitor established pregnancies through the first 8–12 weeks using ultrasonography and laboratory tests, documenting the monitoring in the EMR.
  • Liaise between patients and the medical team by relaying information, test results, and treatment instructions and promptly addressing questions and concerns.
  • Advocate for patients, consider their needs and preferences, and help them make informed care decisions.
  • Maintain accurate and current EMR records, including medication administration, test results, progress notes, and physician orders.
  • Explain results, discuss potential reasons for treatment failure, and explore alternative treatment options or modifications to treatment plans.
  • Perform intrauterine inseminations as directed.
  • Verify that communicable disease testing is complete, accurate, and appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
