About The Position
The Accounts Payable Specialist position is responsible for ensuring that bills are paid accurately and on time, assisting with month-end closing procedures, and collaborating with other departments to ensure proper coding of expenses. This role operates in a professional office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment. The company, Heller's Gas, Inc., is a family-owned and operated business established in 1941, supplying propane products and custom fireplaces to customers in the Mid-Atlantic Region and beyond. Requirements
- Relevant experience required (2+ years)
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Excel
- Organizational skills
- Attention to detail
- Team oriented
- Employment is conditional on verification of background check(s) and pre-employment/random drug testing
Responsibilities
- Reviewing invoices for proper documentation and approval before processing
- Processing and entering invoices and check requests accurately and efficiently into accounting software
- Reconciling vendor accounts and resolving any discrepancies or issues
- Maintaining accurate financial records, including invoice copies, purchase orders, and approvals
- Communicating with vendors regarding payment status and inquiries
- Preparing and processing electronic payments and transfers
- Providing supporting documentation for audits
- Maintaining vendor files and contact information
- Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures related to accounts payable
