About The Position

The Accounts Payable Specialist is based onsite at Rocket Lab’s global headquarters in Long Beach, California. The role assists with processing employee payroll and vendor payments, and supports the company’s finance and accounting operations. The specialist works across functions to resolve discrepancies, supports month-end close and vendor onboarding, and provides customer service to internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience.
• High school diploma.
• Experience working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.

Nice To Haves

• Associate degree in Accounting.
• Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, or LN.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented, logical, and methodical approach to problem-solving.
• Proficiency with PC/Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Perform full-cycle accounts payable functions, including three-way matching.
• Ensure invoices are properly coded, approved by departments, and accurately entered into the ERP system.
• Work cross-functionally to resolve discrepancies.
• Review and process employee expense reports in the ERP system.
• Maintain the GRNI (goods receipt, no invoice) report and ensure invoices are cleared promptly; resolve unmatched items with Purchasing and Receiving.
• Assist with vendor onboarding.
• Assist with the month-end close process.
• Enter invoices and process vendor payments.
• Resolve problems and maintain organized accounts payable documents.
• Support the Transactional Accounting Manager and Accounting Operations Manager.
• Provide excellent customer service internally and externally.
• Assist with ad hoc projects.
