About The Position

Requirements

• One year physician office, hospital patient registration or patient accounting experience: Preferred

Nice To Haves

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
• Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred

Responsibilities

• Greeting and registering patients, ensuring completion of required patient documents.
• Updating patient demographic, insurance, and financial information.
• Providing copies of documents to patients.
• Scheduling patient appointments.
• Completing physician referrals.
• Assisting patients with questions and requests.
• Answering and directing incoming calls and secure messages via the EHR.
• Making appointment reminder calls.
• Verifying eligibility for services and collecting payment amounts due.
• Organizing patient Outguides for next day appointments noting bad debt, authorization, and other pertinent information.
• Balancing patient payments and money box on a daily basis and couriering patient collections to the Business Office safe.
• Following established clinic policies and procedures, including confidentiality requirements as set forth by HIPAA and Adventist Health.
• Supporting an environment of teamwork, professional communication, excellent “customer service” and efficiency.
• Performing other job-related duties as assigned.
