About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of switchboard operator experience, including experience with PBX or voice-over-Internet-protocol switchboards.
• Intermediate PC skills, including Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Attention to detail, with an emphasis on accuracy and quality.
• Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Exceptional customer service skills and an active interest in helping people.
• Ability to handle a high volume of incoming, outgoing, and interoffice calls.
• Professional phone manner and an upbeat, pleasant phone voice.
• Ability to handle high-stress environments.
• Ability to be trusted with sensitive or confidential documents and information.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Previous receptionist or administrative experience, preferably in a legal, banking, or large corporate environment.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls in the Message Center using a multi-line phone system.
• Use appropriate logs to track call issues.
• Maintain phone lists according to procedure.
• Handle additional projects as assigned.
• Communicate with the manager and client about job or deadline issues.
• Ensure request tickets are properly completed before beginning work.
• Complete tasks specified in each request.
• Notify appropriate staff when calls are processed incorrectly.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment problems and place service calls when needed.
• Assist in training new hires.
