About The Position

The MA/PSR-Grant performs patient oriented procedures with the ability to work with and evaluate specific age groups and tasks within the scope of their education and training, under the supervision of a physician or licensed staff person. The MA/PSR monitors & controls patient flow for check-in, check-out, and appointment procedures. Performs other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant (MA) program required.
  • Minimum one year Medical Assistant experience required, preferably in an ambulatory setting.
  • Medical Assistant (MA) certification required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association required.
  • Ability to read, write legibly, and speak English with professional quality.
  • Ability to use computer and software programs necessary to the position.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and calibrate patient care equipment.
  • Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others.
  • Ability to be assertive and consistent in following and/or enforcing policies.
  • Ability to work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure.
  • Ability to lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate.
  • Ability to accept direction.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone.
  • Ability to think critically.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to problem solve.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload.
  • Ability to recall information with accuracy.
  • Ability to pay close attention to detail.
  • Ability to distinguish colors and smells as necessary for patient care.
  • Ability to hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone.
  • Ability to identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the work place/patient care.
  • Ability to see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to position.
  • Ability to discern temperature variances through touch.
