About The Position

Requirements

• Must become familiar with all parking ordinances of the Borough of West Chester.
• Must be in good physical condition to be able to perform assigned duties which entail walking for most their work shift.
• Must have strong communicative skills.
• Must be a high school graduate.
• Must have a valid driver’s license.
• This position is a part-time, hourly, FLSA non-exempt position.

Nice To Haves

• Must be physically fit and able to walk for most of the work shift outside in all weather conditions.
• Must be able to issue clear and concise tickets manually and by using a handheld ticket machine.
• Must be available for all required, scheduled court appearances.
• Must be available for the following schedule: 11:00am-7:00pm Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and 5:00pm-12:00am (midnight) Saturdays. Schedule will also require routine court appearances that may be outside of this regular schedule.

Responsibilities

• Enforce parking ordinances and laws within the assigned work area.
• Issue parking tickets to any offenders of Borough parking ordinances or state violations where appropriate.
• Sign citations after tickets have been processed to citation status.
• Assist in any traffic control as needed.
• Assist the public in any way possible while completing the assigned duties.
• Relay any important information to dispatcher (emergencies, automobile accidents, etc.).
• Testify in court as needed.
• Be professional, courteous, and tactful with the public.
• Perform any department related duty as assigned.
