About The Position
The Parking Enforcement Officer patrols, monitors, and enforces public parking areas to enhance the experience of the public parking system through customer interaction. The role supports customer service objectives and involves answering questions, providing information about parking services and traffic regulations, and assisting with customer service activities. Business hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Responsibilities
- Practice good public relations with customers and visitors by answering questions and providing information concerning parking services and traffic regulations.
- Patrol metered and monthly parking areas.
- Use handheld ticket devices to issue citations for parking violations, including enforcement of the towing ordinance and emergency snow route ordinance.
- Perform work duties and activities in accordance with organizational policies, procedures, and safety practices.
- Attend work regularly at the designated place and time.
- Support continuous process improvement initiatives.
- Perform related work as required.
- Appear in court as a witness against violators as needed.
- Report inoperative meters to meter technician personnel.
- Assist with customer service activities.
