About The Position
At JBT Marel, our purpose is to transform the future of food. We are seeking a Field Service Technician for our FTNON product line, which specializes in automated fresh cut produce and fruit processing equipment. This role is primarily responsible for servicing and repairing JBT Marel sold equipment at customer sites, performing technical mechanical, electrical, and controls work. You will strategically manage field service activities and actively work to expand and grow the business.
Requirements
- 4-6 years of mechanical/electrical/controls experience OR field service experience including working knowledge of fresh produce and fruit processing product lines preferred.
- Basic computer skills - including iPad and smart phone, use of email, Word, Excel, etc.
- Customer oriented with a positive/ can do attitude.
- Strong electromechanically inclined abilities to troubleshoot and repair machinery hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical components.
- Safety conscious leader, with a proven track record on safety.
- Strong written and communication skills with ability to write detailed, technical reports.
- Good interpersonal skills with a positive and professional attitude.
- Must demonstrate participation, leadership, and commitment to the execution of JBT Marel strategies.
Nice To Haves
- Two-year technical school training or related field experience preferred.
- Welding skills a plus.
- Manufacturing experience in food processing industry preferred.
Responsibilities
- Perform all duties in accordance with JBT Marel safety policies and procedures while maintaining a safety-focused work mentality.
- Performance maintenance and setup work on all JBT Marel FTNON products including cutting and de-coring and drying automated machinery for fresh-cut produce, vegetables, herbs, salads and fruit.
- Set up and adjust machines in the field to equipment specifications.
- Perform machine audits, repairs, and preventative scheduled maintenance.
- Conduct inventory of new equipment prior to start of installation.
- Install, commission, and set up JBT Marel FTNON products in customer facilities.
- Diagnose problems, dismantle machines, replace defective parts, and reassemble machines.
- Identify and articulate root cause problem statements while troubleshooting.
- Changeover and setup change parts running clearance and timing.
- Cross training is an expectation and when applicable, provide training to customers and coworkers alike.
