About The Position

The Catering Sales Manager at the Thomas M. Menino Convention Center serves as the primary liaison between the client and the food and beverage team. This role manages the client relationship from the initial planning stages through the completion of the event, ensuring the client’s vision is effectively communicated and executed while delivering exceptional service and achieving business goals.

Requirements

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Basic math, computer, and administrative skills.
  • Ability to taste and evaluate food and beverage products.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and navigate stairs.
  • Ability to use computers and other office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively by phone and in person.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Manage client timelines, event details, contracts, and payments.
  • Guide clients through the planning process, including menu and beverage selections.
  • Conduct client meetings and site visits.
  • Communicate client expectations and event details clearly to internal teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, guests, vendors, and internal partners.
  • Identify opportunities to increase revenue and promote profitable catering services.
  • Obtain client feedback and use it to improve service and operations.
  • Coordinate and execute catering services that meet or exceed guest expectations.
  • Ensure menus, promotions, and programs are executed according to Levy standards.
  • Maintain strong attention to detail and ensure event quality standards are met.
  • Communicate effectively with operations teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Support guest service needs and assist with resolving departmental concerns.
  • Promote Heartfelt Hospitality and consistent service standards.
  • Support and communicate company and location initiatives.
  • Accurately utilize applicable Levy systems and technology.
  • Manage assigned sales, revenue, and cost goals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing and payment collection.
  • Complete required reporting, forecasting, and event documentation.
  • Support month-end processes and departmental reporting.
  • Follow Levy standards, policies, safety requirements, and responsible alcohol service practices.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and coaching to team members as appropriate.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Support effective communication between management and team members.
  • Lead by example and maintain a positive, professional attitude.
