About The Position

The Student Success Coordinator is responsible for the overall administration, programming, and coordination of services for specific populations. The Student Success Coordinator provides leadership and direction by collaborating with the other Student Success Coordinator, as well as with campus and community partners, to secure continued or stable funding and to deliver services to eligible students. This position reports to the Director of Student Success.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited institution, OR a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution plus 2 years of experience working in education, student affairs, counseling, psychology, social work or other closely related field
  • Experience working with or supporting underserved, at-risk, or non-traditional student populations (e.g., homeless youth, foster care alumni, veterans, first-generation students, etc.)
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with diverse campus and community stakeholders
  • Proficiency in using technology and student information systems for advising, data tracking, and communication

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed Professional Counselor, LCSW, or license eligible under the Mental Health Professions Act in the State of Wyoming
  • 3 or more years of experience working with homeless youth, former foster care youth, veterans, military-affiliated, single-parent, non-traditional, and/or first-generation students

Responsibilities

  • Administer support services for students who are homeless youth, former foster care youth, veterans, military-affiliated, single-parent, non-traditional, and/or first-generation.
  • Provide individualized, holistic case management services to ensure a successful transition to college and beyond by addressing students’ academic, social, financial, and personal needs.
  • Select, award, and manage all funds used to support the target student populations.
  • Support retention efforts through the advisement of new students and General Studies majors within these populations, providing academic coaching, and assisting with other retention programming.
  • Develop and administer retention services and events from recruitment through graduation, including recruiting students, assisting with enrollment processes, advising, providing case management and academic coaching, and helping transition students to the workforce or another institution.
  • Administer all aspects of programming including collecting applications, selecting recipients, determining continued eligibility, coordinating activities and events, and maintaining and tracking inventory and materials.
  • Manage institutional, grant, and foundation funds by providing budget oversight and ensuring compliance with grant regulations and donor funding stipulations, including completing yearly grant applications, adhering to purchasing policies and procedures, tracking purchases and monitoring balances, and providing recurring reports.
  • Maintain accurate programmatic and individual records of students seen and duties performed; maintain appointment and program statistics; and analyze data toward improvement of services and student outcomes.
  • Maintain knowledge of best practices including those impacting enrollment, retention, and completion of specific, high-risk, and/or vulnerable populations.
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Veterans Resource Center and work-study students.
  • Stay current with and implement high-impact practices and retention strategies to support the success of homeless youth, former foster care youth, veterans, military-affiliated students, single parents, non-traditional, and first-generation students.
  • Collaborate with and present to campus and community stakeholders including CC employees, local employers, nonprofits, and government organizations.
  • Support and assist team members in the execution of prospective and current student programming or services.
  • Serve on campus committees and attend student events.
