About The Position
U-Haul is seeking a responsible, motivated, and thoughtful General Manager Trainee to learn how to manage a moving and storage center. The role involves learning how to make rental facilities profitable and efficient by tracking inventory and managing equipment, as well as solving problems as they arise. Managing a center is described as varied, fast-paced, and rewarding. The position is located at 2970 Transit Rd, West Seneca, New York 14224, and is not eligible for employer sponsorship. Applicants must be legally authorized to work without employer sponsorship. U-Haul describes its hiring approach as “Hire Fast, Pay Fast.” Candidates can complete two paid, hands-on working interviews. Requirements
- 1–3 years of management experience in retail or another service industry, with responsibility for financial results and customer satisfaction.
- Computer expertise.
- Organizational expertise.
- Management proficiency in high-volume retail with profit and loss (P&L) accountability.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain a good driving record.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work weekends and holidays.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
Responsibilities
- Manage the fleet to deliver clean and well-maintained equipment.
- Track and itemize inventory.
- Ensure customers receive the highest quality of care.
- Keep track of fuel receipts and petty cash.
- Clean and monitor the premises and maintain a secure environment.
- Participate in ongoing U-Haul education through U-Haul University.
