About The Position

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• At least one year of related experience and cash handling experience.
• Good communication skills.
• Professional appearance, dress, and attitude.
• Good math skills.
• Good typing skills.
• Ability to operate related computer applications and business equipment, including an adding machine, typewriter, copy machine, coin and money counting machines, and telephone.

Nice To Haves

• Understanding of bank operations.
• Previous Teller experience.

Responsibilities

• Represent the bank courteously and professionally.
• Receive and process deposits and loan payments.
• Cash checks and other negotiable instruments; examine documents for endorsements and negotiability.
• Process transfers between accounts and credit card cash advances.
• Sell traveler’s checks, official checks, and money orders.
• Verify and balance cash daily, detect discrepancies, and resolve them promptly.
• Offer and cross-sell bank products and services to meet customer needs and strengthen relationships.
• Follow teller procedures and compliance requirements, maintaining no more than one proof error within a 30-day period.
• Resolve client requests and inquiries promptly and maintain the privacy of customer information.
• Operate the online teller terminal and maintain the bank’s quality reputation.
• Assist area personnel and provide training or orientation as needed.
• Keep the supervisor informed about area activities, problems, and concerns.
• Complete required reports and records accurately and promptly.
• Attend meetings and training classes that may be held on weekdays, evenings, and/or Saturdays.
• Perform night drop functions and related clerical duties as assigned.
• Keep work areas clean, secure, and well maintained.
