About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Cosmo's Corner to provide hands-on care for pets in a pet care center. The role includes maintaining clean and safe enclosures and play areas, feeding and monitoring pet guests, supervising play, and helping with grooming and bathing. The position involves physical work, exposure to cleaning supplies and pet hair, and availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays. The primary hiring need is for an afternoon/evening shift, generally 1–9, but applicants must be available for all shifts.
Requirements
- A strong love of animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on one's feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and availability for all shifts.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor the health and happiness of pet guests and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings to ensure items are clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
