Animal Care Attendant (Career Opportunities)
About The Position
Destination Pet is seeking an Animal Care Attendant at Raintree Pet Resort and Medical Spa. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests in a pet resort setting, helping keep animals comfortable and their spaces clean, safe, and sanitary. The work is active and requires being on your feet throughout the shift, with frequent standing, walking, and stair climbing. The environment includes exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but applicants new to the field who are eager to learn are welcome. The position reports to the General Manager.
Requirements
- A strong love for animals.
- A cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pet guests.
- Monitor the health and wellbeing of each pet guest and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings to ensure each pet has clean items.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
