About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a Lead Animal Care Attendant at Canine Fitness and Fun Center to guide daily animal-care operations during assigned shifts. The role leads and supports Animal Care Attendants while helping ensure the safety, cleanliness, and well-being of pet guests. It includes hands-on care such as feeding, providing fresh water and daily attention, administering or overseeing medications and special-needs care, bathing and brushing pets, and maintaining a clean environment. The Lead Animal Care Attendant also trains new hires and reports concerns about guests to the General Manager or Assistant Manager. This is a full-time position with pay starting at $20.50 per hour, depending on experience, plus tips.

Requirements

Previous work experience in animal care.
High school diploma.
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and handle leashed dogs during most of the shift.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal messes.
Ability to lead by example and support teammates.

Nice To Haves

Experience administering medications.
CPR training.

Responsibilities

Lead assigned shifts by coaching and guiding the team and setting expectations for pet care.
Work alongside Animal Care Attendants to ensure pet safety, cleanliness, and quality care.
Train new hires in proper pet handling and work procedures.
Monitor pet guests’ health and safety and report concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Provide food, fresh water, and daily care to pet guests.
Oversee medication and care for guests with special needs.
Bathe and brush pets.
Maintain a clean and comfortable facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.
