About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a Lead Animal Care Attendant at Paws and Play Pet Resort and Training Center. The role leads assigned shifts and supports daily animal care, team coordination, and facility operations. The Lead works alongside Animal Care Attendants to maintain a safe, clean environment and provide attentive care to pet guests, including feeding, bathing, brushing, medication administration, and support for guests with special needs. The position requires working on your feet and handling leashed dogs, with availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Previous work experience in animal care.
• Ability to work on your feet, stand, walk, climb stairs, and handle leashed dogs.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lead by example and support teammates.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Nice To Haves

• Experience administering medication.
• CPR training.

Responsibilities

• Lead assigned shifts by coaching and guiding the team and setting expectations for pet care.
• Work alongside Animal Care Attendants to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Train new hires in proper pet handling and procedures.
• Monitor pet guests' health and safety and report concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Provide food, fresh water, and daily care to pet guests.
• Oversee medication and care for guests with special needs.
• Bathe and brush pets.
• Maintain a clean and comfortable facility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
