About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking an Animal Care Attendant at Zionville Country Kennel to provide hands-on care for pet guests. The role includes maintaining clean and safe enclosures and play areas, providing meals and fresh water, monitoring pets’ health and behavior, supervising play, and assisting with brushing and baths. It also involves handling laundry and pet belongings and reporting unusual observations to management.

This is a physically active role that requires standing and walking throughout the shift, frequent stair climbing, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The work includes exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal waste. Availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Prior kennel or animal care experience is described as a plus, while the posting also specifies a minimum of one year of kennel-environment experience.

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a kennel environment.
• Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Must be able to stand for the duration of the shift.
• Must be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
• Ability to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal waste.
• A calm and professional demeanor and willingness to perform hands-on, dirty work.
• Passion for animals.

Responsibilities

• Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
• Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
• Monitor each pet guest’s health, well-being, and waste.
• Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Supervise pets during playtime.
• Assist with brushing and bathing.
• Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
