About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking an Overnight Animal Care Attendant at Ortega Animal Care Center. The role provides hands-on care for pets staying at the center, helping keep them safe, comfortable, clean, and well cared for. The work is active and requires being on your feet for the duration of the shift, with frequent standing, walking, and stair climbing. The position involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents, and requires lifting up to 40 pounds. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but is not required for candidates who are eager to learn. The position is full time and offers health benefits, a 401(k), discounted pet insurance, pay starting at $20.00–$23.00 per hour depending on experience, plus tips. Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Provide meals and fresh water to pets.
Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including observing their waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
Assist with brushing and bath time.
Handle laundry and pets’ belongings to ensure they are clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
