About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Petz Plaza to provide hands-on care for pets in a pet-care center. The role involves maintaining clean and safe spaces, feeding and monitoring pets, supervising play, and assisting with brushing, bathing, laundry, and belongings. It is physically active work that requires standing for the duration of a shift and frequent standing, walking, and stair climbing. The role also involves exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
Requirements
- A strong love for animals.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
- Be willing to perform hands-on work that can involve getting dirty.
- Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Be able to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift and stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Be able to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including waste, and report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
