About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a Lead Animal Care Attendant at Sunny Acres Pet Resort. The role leads assigned shifts and supports the daily care of pet guests, working alongside Animal Care Attendants to maintain safety, cleanliness, and quality care. The Lead trains new hires, monitors pets’ health and safety, communicates concerns to management, and oversees care for pets receiving medication or requiring special attention. The position also involves feeding, watering, bathing, and brushing guests, as well as keeping the facility clean and comfortable.

Requirements

Previous work experience in animal care.
High school diploma.
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and handle leashed dogs for most of the shift.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, including every other weekend and holidays.
Open availability is preferred.

Nice To Haves

Experience administering medication.
CPR training.
Experience confidently guiding and supporting teammates.

Responsibilities

Lead assigned shifts by coaching and guiding team members and setting expectations for pet care.
Work alongside Animal Care Attendants to maintain pet safety and facility cleanliness.
Train new hires in proper pet handling and procedures.
Monitor pet guests’ health and safety and report concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Provide food, fresh water, and daily care to pet guests.
Oversee medication and care for guests with special needs.
Bathe and brush pets.
Keep the facility clean and comfortable.
Perform other duties as assigned.
