Animal Care Attendant (Career Opportunity)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Wagsworth Manor Pet Resort. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests, maintaining clean and safe spaces, supporting feeding and grooming routines, monitoring pets, and supervising play. It is an active position that requires standing and being on your feet throughout the shift, frequent walking and stair climbing, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but candidates who are new to the work and eager to learn are welcome.
Requirements
- Love of animals.
- Cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work that can get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to remain on one's feet for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.

Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest's health and well-being, including observing elimination habits.
- Report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings.
