About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Zionville Country Kennel. The role involves hands-on animal care in a kennel environment, including maintaining clean and safe spaces, feeding and monitoring pet guests, supervising play, and helping with grooming-related tasks. The work is physically active and may involve exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. The position reports to the General Manager. Prior kennel or animal-care experience is described as a plus, and the posting separately requires a minimum of one year of experience in a kennel environment.

Requirements

At least one year of experience in a kennel environment.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on their feet for the duration of the shift.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
A love for animals, a calm and professional demeanor, and willingness to perform hands-on work, including getting dirty.

Prior kennel or animal-care experience is a plus; the posting also states that eager candidates who are new to the field are welcome.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pet guests.
Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including observing their waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime and activities such as fetch.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pet belongings.
Perform other duties as assigned.
