About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring a Lead Animal Care Attendant at Animal Tender Pet Resort to help guide daily operations and provide excellent care for pets. The role leads assigned shifts, supports and trains Animal Care Attendants, and helps maintain a safe, clean, comfortable environment for pet guests. Responsibilities also include feeding and caring for pets, monitoring their health and safety, administering or overseeing medications and special needs, and bathing and brushing dogs. The position requires working on your feet and handling leashed dogs, with exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.

Requirements

Previous work experience in animal care.
High school diploma.
Ability to stand, walk, climb stairs, and handle leashed dogs for most of a shift.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.
Calmness under pressure and confidence guiding and supporting teammates.

Nice To Haves

Experience administering medication.
CPR training; training may be provided.

Responsibilities

Lead assigned shifts by coaching and guiding team members and setting expectations for pet care.
Work alongside Animal Care Attendants to maintain pet safety and cleanliness.
Train new hires in proper pet handling and procedures.
Monitor pet guests’ health and safety, and report concerns to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Provide food, fresh water, and daily care to pet guests.
Oversee medications and care for guests with special needs.
Bathe and brush dogs.
Maintain a clean and comfortable facility.
Perform other duties as assigned.
