About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Brown Dog Lodge Germantown. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a boarding and daycare environment, helping keep animals comfortable and their spaces clean, safe, and sanitary. The work is physically active and may involve cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but applicants who are new to the field and eager to learn are welcome.
Requirements
- Passionate about animals.
- Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Able to remain on their feet for the duration of a shift.
- Able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Able to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Provide pets with meals and fresh water.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including observing and reporting elimination habits or other relevant details.
- Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings to keep them clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
