About The Position

Destination Pet is seeking an Animal Care Attendant at Dog Dayz of California. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a daycare and boarding environment, including keeping animals safe and comfortable and maintaining clean, sanitized enclosures and play areas. The work is active and can involve physical exertion, exposure to cleaning supplies and pet hair, and cleaning up after pets. The position requires availability for evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. The Animal Care Attendant reports to the General Manager.

Requirements

A strong love of animals.
A calm and professional demeanor.
Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on their feet for the duration of a shift.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Availability to work evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
Comfort with exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and pet accidents.

Nice To Haves

Prior kennel or animal care experience; candidates new to the field who are eager to learn are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pet guests.
Monitor each pet guest’s health and wellbeing, including observing their waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pet belongings to ensure items are clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
