About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Brown Dog Lodge Germantown. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests in a pet care facility, including keeping animals safe, clean, fed, and engaged. The work is physically active and may involve exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is required.
Requirements
- Passionate about animals.
- Maintain a cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
- Be willing to perform hands-on work that may get dirty.
- Able to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Able to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
- Able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pet guests.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and wellbeing, including observing elimination habits.
- Report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pet playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
