About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at K9 Kaos to provide hands-on care for pet guests. The role involves maintaining clean, safe, and sanitized enclosures and play areas; serving meals and fresh water; monitoring pets’ health and well-being; supervising play; and assisting with brushing and bathing. The attendant also handles laundry and pet belongings, reports unusual observations to management, and performs other duties as assigned. This is a physically active role that requires being on your feet for the duration of the shift, frequently standing, walking, and climbing stairs, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The work includes exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability during evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. The position reports to the General Manager. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but eager candidates who are new to the field are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

Demonstrated love for animals.
Cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Ability to remain on feet for the duration of a shift.
Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Ability to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.

Nice To Haves

Prior kennel or animal care experience.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
Monitor the health and well-being of pet guests, including observing their waste, and report unusual findings to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pets’ belongings to keep them clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
