Animal Care Attendant (Flexible Working Hours)
About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Norwichtown Pet Resort. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a pet resort environment, helping keep animals comfortable, safe, and healthy while supporting their families’ peace of mind. The work is physically active and may involve exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. The position requires availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays. The employer describes prior kennel or animal care experience as a plus, while welcoming candidates who are new to the work and eager to learn. The Animal Care Attendant reports to the General Manager.
Requirements
- A strong love for animals.
- A cool, calm, and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to do hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on their feet for the duration of a shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and wellbeing, including bowel movements, and report unusual observations to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pets’ belongings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
