About The Position
Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Holiday Pet Hotel. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests in a pet care setting and requires working on your feet in an environment that can be physically demanding and sometimes sweaty. The attendant helps keep pets safe, healthy, comfortable, and clean while supporting the daily operation of the facility. Evenings, weekends, and holidays are required. The position reports to the General Manager.
Requirements
- A strong love for animals.
- A calm and professional demeanor.
- Willingness to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
- Ability to remain on your feet for the duration of the shift.
- Ability to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to work around cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents.
Nice To Haves
- Prior kennel or animal care experience; new candidates who are eager to learn are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
- Serve meals and provide fresh water to pet guests.
- Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including observing elimination, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
- Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
- Assist with brushing and bathing.
- Handle laundry and pet belongings to ensure they are clean.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
