About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Animal Care Attendant at Rivermist Pet Lodge. The role involves hands-on care for pets in a boarding and care environment, including maintaining clean and safe areas, feeding and monitoring animals, supervising play, and assisting with grooming and bathing. This is a physically active position with exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Seasonal workers are sought for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Requirements

• A strong love of animals.
• Maintain a calm and professional demeanor.
• Be willing to perform hands-on work and get dirty.
• Be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
• Be able to remain on your feet for the duration of a shift.
• Be able to stand, walk, and climb stairs frequently.
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.

Nice To Haves

• Prior kennel or animal care experience; candidates who are new to the field but eager to learn are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
• Serve meals and provide fresh water to pets.
• Monitor each pet guest’s health and well-being, including noting waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
• Supervise pet playtime and activities.
• Assist with brushing and bathing.
• Handle laundry and pets’ belongings to keep them clean.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
