About The Position
The Accounts Receivable & Credit Manager leads the teams responsible for collections, cash application, and credit management across Cochlear Americas. This role oversees B2B accounts receivable activities while balancing financial performance and credit risk with strong customer relationships. The manager develops an experienced team and partners with Finance, Accounting, Sales, field leadership, and global teams to strengthen processes, resolve escalations, and support the business. Based at Cochlear Americas’ head office in Lone Tree, Colorado, this is a hybrid role with three days per week in the office. It is suited to a supportive, hands-on leader who listens, thinks strategically, and is motivated to grow their leadership capabilities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- 5–7+ years of Accounts Receivable management experience.
- Ability to negotiate payment arrangements using complete and accurate information.
- Proven experience managing and leading high-performing teams across accounting functions.
- Strong analytical skills in Accounting and Finance, attention to detail in metrics, and ability to turn complex financial data into actionable insights and recommendations.
- Demonstrated experience leading functional change and helping stakeholders and direct reports adopt workplace changes while minimizing organizational disruption.
- Proactive problem-solving skills and exceptional negotiation skills to navigate challenging collection scenarios and resolve customer disputes.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop the Accounts Receivable team across collections, cash application, and credit management, providing expectations, coaching, career development, and support.
- Oversee B2B collections, customer credit limits, payment terms, cash application, and account escalations while balancing financial risk management with a partnership-driven customer experience.
- Establish and improve Accounts Receivable strategies, processes, controls, and service standards to support timely collections, accurate cash application, appropriate credit exposure, and operational consistency.
- Partner with Accounting, Finance, Treasury, Sales, field leadership, and global teams to improve month-end close, forecasting, reporting, policy adherence, and customer account decisions.
- Monitor and communicate Accounts Receivable metrics, trends, and risks, providing clear reporting and actionable recommendations.
- Maintain compliance with applicable debt collection requirements and support continuous improvement initiatives.
