About The Position
Gordon Food Service Store, the retail division of Gordon Food Service, is hiring a part-time Van Delivery Driver. The role is responsible for courteous, on-time, and accurate deliveries of products on a variable daily route. The driver operates the van professionally and safely, demonstrating attention to detail and safe work habits, and assists with store operations before or after completing the route. Delivery duties include locating and picking wholesale customer orders in-store, maintaining good customer relationships, making accurate and timely deliveries, and performing daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment. Store duties include accurately processing customer purchases through the point of sale; safeguarding cash, checks, and merchandise according to policies; receiving and merchandising products; maintaining product quality and rotation; executing end caps and planograms; and organizing top stock, freezer, cooler, and backroom areas. The position is based at the Gordon Food Service Store at 2508 N Roosevelt Blvd, Key West, Florida. Pay is $24 per hour. Store hours are Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The company is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Easter.
Requirements
- At least 18 years old.
- Unrestricted Standard Operator's License.
- Clean driving record, with no drug or alcohol offenses in the last five years.
- Successfully pass pre-employment checks, including a drug screen, criminal background check, and motor vehicle report.
- Able to use a two-wheel cart with a load weighing up to 350 pounds.
- Able to lift up to 70 pounds.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of previous delivery driving experience.
- One year of experience in customer service or a related field.
Responsibilities
- Accurately locate and pick orders in-store for wholesale customers.
- Build and maintain good customer relationships.
- Deliver Gordon Food Service products accurately and on time.
- Operate the van professionally and safely, following safe work habits.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and equipment.
- Assist with store operations before or after completing the delivery route.
- Process customer purchases accurately and efficiently through the point of sale.
- Protect cash, checks, and merchandise by following company policies and procedures.
- Receive and merchandise products accurately.
- Ensure proper product rotation and quality, execute end caps and planograms, and maintain top stock, freezer, cooler, and backroom organization.
