About The Position

Requirements

• At least 5 years of product design experience.
• A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex, web-based SaaS products.
• Expertise in Figma and hands-on experience with AI-assisted tools such as Cursor.
• Ability to lead qualitative and quantitative research and translate findings into product decisions.
• Experience building or scaling a design system.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to present and defend design decisions to executives, engineers, and customers.
• Comfort with ownership and minimal process in a fast-growing startup.

Responsibilities

• Lead the full design process across major areas of the platform, from discovery and problem framing through delivery and iteration.
• Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape the roadmap, prioritize problems, and balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
• Plan and conduct research with tournament operators, event directors, and participants, using qualitative insights and product analytics to guide decisions and measure impact.
• Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs that make data-heavy, multi-step operational workflows intuitive.
• Establish navigation and interaction patterns that scale across the platform and support power users managing large events under pressure.
• Plan and conduct usability studies and translate findings into design improvements.
• Lead the evolution of a scalable design system for consistent web and future mobile experiences.
• Use AI-assisted tools such as Cursor to prototype and refine front-end code, including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, in collaboration with engineering.
• Mentor other designers, lead critiques, and champion craft and user-centered thinking across the company.
