About The Position

Full Swing’s design practice is part of a Design Center of Excellence, with designers embedded in product pods. This designer will join a pod according to team needs and own design for companion apps that pair with simulators and connected hardware, including setup, calibration, live sessions, and performance tracking. As the hardware ecosystem expands, the role helps ensure that increasing product complexity remains simple for athletes and golfers. The designer will own scoped, end-to-end design work for key app feature areas, translating ambiguous problems into clear user flows and polished interfaces. The role partners with Product and Engineering from concept through launch, with success measured by how well features work for users in real sessions. Responsibilities include creating flows and prototypes, contributing to design systems, validating decisions with research and product data, designing accessible mobile experiences, presenting design rationale, and working with engineers through implementation and QA. The role operates in a hybrid or office-based environment depending on company needs. Work is primarily in an office setting during standard working hours, though occasional after-hours support may be required. The position involves frequent cross-department collaboration, extended periods of sitting and computer use, and the ability to lift 25 lbs. Salary range: $120,000–$138,000.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of product design experience shipping consumer or professional mobile applications for iOS and/or Android.
  • A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of shipped product work, including problem framing, user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, prototypes, and iteration informed by user feedback or product data.
  • Proficiency in Figma, including building and maintaining detailed user flows, component libraries, and interactive prototypes.
  • Solid understanding of iOS and Android design guidelines (Human Interface Guidelines and Material Design) and how they differ.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity and move quickly in a fast-paced environment, including defining problems rather than only solving problems assigned by others.
  • Experience working directly with engineers through implementation and QA.
  • Clear communication skills and ability to explain design decisions to design and non-design audiences.
  • Portfolio should include 2–3 case studies demonstrating direct contribution to shipped mobile product work, covering the user problem and context, role and partners, workflow exploration and edge cases, design decisions and tradeoffs, final interface and prototypes, and what shipped and was learned after launch. Confidential or password-protected case studies are welcome.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing connected hardware/software experiences, including Bluetooth/BLE pairing, device onboarding, setup, calibration, live-session, or device-status flows.
  • Experience contributing to, auditing, or scaling a component library or design system.
  • Experience writing UX copy/microcopy or collaborating closely on it.
  • Experience planning or supporting user interviews and usability tests and synthesizing findings into product decisions.
  • Comfort incorporating AI tools into the design workflow, such as Figma AI or AI-assisted prototyping, to work faster without cutting corners.
  • Interest or background in sports, fitness, or performance-tracking products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end design process for mobile features, from problem framing and user flows through high-fidelity UI and developer handoff.
  • Create and maintain detailed user flows and interactive prototypes in Figma that communicate logic, edge cases, and states to engineering.
  • Partner with Product Managers and Engineers from discovery through launch, balancing user needs, technical constraints, and business goals.
  • Contribute to and evolve the design system to support consistency across iOS and Android.
  • Use user research, analytics, and usability testing to validate design decisions and iterate after launch.
  • Present design rationale to stakeholders, including leadership, and incorporate feedback while maintaining focus on the user problem.
  • Collaborate with other designers on critique, systems thinking, and shared UX patterns across the broader product.
  • Design accessible mobile experiences using platform accessibility standards for interaction, visual hierarchy, typography, color, and touch targets.
  • Partner with engineers during implementation and QA to ensure shipped experiences match intended behavior, quality, and edge-case handling.
