About The Position

Fastbreak AI is seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape its platform for sports operations, including precision scheduling, league and tournament management, group travel, and sponsorship activation. The designer will own complex, high-stakes workflows used by tournament operators, event directors, and participants, and will set the bar for product design quality. The role calls for someone who can work through ambiguity, simplify operational problems, and influence what the company builds and why. The Senior Product Designer will lead design from discovery and problem framing through delivery and iteration, partnering with product and engineering leadership on roadmap priorities. The role includes user research, analytics-informed decision-making, interaction and navigation design, usability testing, design-system development, and AI-assisted front-end prototyping. The designer will also mentor colleagues and promote craft and user-centered thinking across the company.

Requirements

5+ years of product design experience.
A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end ownership of complex web-based SaaS products.
Expertise in Figma and hands-on experience with AI-assisted tools such as Cursor.
Proven ability to lead qualitative and quantitative research and translate findings into product decisions.
Experience building or scaling a design system.
Strong communication skills, including the ability to present and defend design decisions to executives, engineers, and customers.
Ability to thrive with ownership and minimal process in a fast-growing startup.

Responsibilities

Lead the full design process across major areas of the platform, from discovery and problem framing through delivery and iteration.
Partner with product and engineering leadership to shape the roadmap, prioritize problems, and balance user needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
Plan and conduct research with tournament operators, event directors, and participants, combining qualitative insights with product analytics to guide decisions and measure impact.
Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity designs for data-heavy, multi-step operational workflows.
Establish scalable navigation and interaction patterns for power users managing large events under pressure.
Plan and run usability studies and translate findings into design improvements.
Lead the evolution of a scalable design system for consistency across web and future mobile experiences.
Use AI-assisted tools such as Cursor to prototype and refine front-end code in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, collaborating with engineering to preserve design intent in shipped work.
Mentor other designers, lead critiques, and champion craft and user-centered thinking across the company.
